In 2022, a man approached HWF with a rather unconventional project: to transform a five-story hotel owned by the Church into a hospital to provide quality healthcare to the population of Lomé.

This extraordinary idea came to life when the pastor of Lomé realized that the building could serve the community far more effectively as a healthcare center than as lodging for pilgrims. He then reached out to a contact in Belgium who could coordinate the project with Hospital Without Frontiers.

Thanks to this collaboration, two shipments were successfully carried out, enabling the hospital to open services for consultations, minor surgeries, maternity, gynecology-obstetrics, and dialysis.

The second shipment, completed in 2025, aims to strengthen the hospital’s existing departments and ensure a high standard of care.
